At Eiland van Maurik, you can combine the peace and quiet of the water with scenic cycling trips, enjoyable days out and all the comfort of a well-equipped holiday park. Choose a comfortable holiday home or bring your caravan, motorhome or tent. Outside the school holidays, the park is noticeably quieter, giving you the chance to explore the Betuwe at your own pace.
A great holiday for over-50s is about more than just peace and quiet. It is the freedom to decide what you feel like doing each day that makes your stay special. Start the morning with a bike ride along dykes and through orchards, visit a castle or historic town, and end the day with a drink by the water. Prefer to spend the day at the park? You will find restaurants, a supermarket, bike rental and an indoor swimming pool all close at hand.
Eiland van Maurik is a holiday park for all ages. In spring, early summer and late summer – outside the school holidays – the atmosphere is noticeably quieter. This makes the park a great base for couples, friends and active seniors who like to combine space and freedom with comfort and convenience.
After a day of cycling or a trip out, it is nice to return to your own accommodation. Choose, for example, a cosy Eilandlodge for two, a Strandhuisje by the water, or one of the other holiday homes at the park. You will have your own living area, kitchen and terrace, while the park facilities are all close by.
Do you have specific requirements regarding accessibility, walking distances or the layout of an accommodation? Please contact reception before booking. The team will be happy to help you choose a stay that suits your needs.
Are you bringing a caravan, motorhome, trailer tent or tent? You can choose from several camping pitches, each with its own character. If you are looking for peace and quiet, Rozenwiel and the pet-free section of Rozenwiel are good options. These pitches are located near the fishing pond and, outside the busy holiday periods, are a lovely place to enjoy the natural surroundings. Zomerdijk is close to the recreational lake and offers views towards the water and the sunset.
The camping pitches combine outdoor living with facilities such as electricity, water and sanitary facilities. Before booking, check the details for each area, including the available hook-ups, pitch surface and parking arrangements.
From Eiland van Maurik, you can cycle straight into the Betuwe. Follow quiet roads and dykes, ride along the water and discover orchards, villages and historic places in the surrounding area. You can choose from routes of around 25 and 30 kilometres, with themes such as nature, water, history or the fruit-growing landscape.
During your stay, you can pick up a free cycling package from reception. It includes selected cycling routes, information about the area, plus vouchers and discounts to make your cycling holiday even more enjoyable. Didn’t bring your own bike? You can rent a regular or electric bike from Bikes & More. There is also a free service station at reception for small repairs.
The water shapes both the view and the relaxed atmosphere at Eiland van Maurik. Take a walk around the park, find a quiet spot by the pond or enjoy some time on the terrace at the Beachclub. If you prefer to stay active, you can head out onto the water in a canoe, on a SUP board or in an electric boat. That way, you can make the day as peaceful, active or varied as you like.
There is plenty to do on less sunny days too. Swim a few lengths in the indoor pool, have a coffee at Mauk Café or stop by for lunch or dinner. For your everyday groceries, there is also a supermarket at the park.
There is plenty to discover beyond the park too. Visit Amerongen Castle, stroll through the historic town of Buren or spend a day at Ouwehands Zoo in Rhenen. In Tiel, you can discover the story of Flipje and the Betuwe. Thanks to its central location in Gelderland, you can head in a different direction every day without having to plan long drives.
